Background
- Compliance to decree 67 of the Superintendence of Electricity and Fuel (SEC) for all their Satellite Regasification Plants (PSR).
- The Company required a reliable online monitoring system to commercially and operationally manage its customers, protecting the safety and integrity of their equipment while ensuring the operational continuity of gas supply.
Challenge
Finding a solution that could provide real time data regarding the operational status of their Satellite Regasification Plants (PSR), enabling the Company to manage the business through the monitoring of relevant variables/KPIs.
Specifically:
- Real time monitoring of the equipment in the 23 PSR across multiple regions in Chile, supported by an operational alarm system and dashboards displaying relevant variables/KPIs.
- A tool that could store historical data to enable data analysis and forecast generation to ensure the continuity of the gas supply to their end customers.
Solution
An intuitive and user-friendly monitoring platform that integrates and allows the visualization of the operational variables/KPIs of the PSRs in real time.
- Data integration of the status of operational variables such as pressure, temperature, storage infrastructure levels, end customer gas consumption, among others.
- Real time PSR data monitoring and an operational alarm system combined in an all-in-one monitoring platform. These alarms/alerts are visualized on the platform and at the plants via sound emitting devices. Additionally, alerts can be configured to be sent to email or text message (SMS) recipients.
- Global dashboard to visualize the status of the PSRs in real time. Historical data reporting (quantity and quality) is also available to facilitate data analysis and trend visualization.
Solution Specifications
- Web based monitoring platform with 24/7 availability.
- Intuitive and easy access tool with excellent usability.
- Visualization adapted for computers and mobile devices. It allows both operators and supervisors in different areas of the operation to have full visibility of the gas management system remotely and at all times.
Impact
The work carried out by We Techs allowed the following:
1 Compliance to decree 67 of the Superintendence of Electricity and Fuel for all PSRs, totaling an annual flow of 54 million Sm³ of gas for 2022, distributed across multiple regions in Chile.
2 Counting with a single monitoring platform for all 23 PSRs and a real time operational alarm system to identify potential anomalies or system failures, which could trigger preventive or reactive action plans.
3 Access to data tools that allow the adequate logistic management for the filling of the tanks in the PSRs, thereby adding efficiency, planning capabilities and control to the entire chain, as well as gas consumption trends, aiming to enhance the quality and robustness of the service provided to end customers.
4 Availing information to support the operational and strategic decision-making process of the Company aimed at securing the short- and medium-term service continuity for their end customers.
